Plants & Livestock Products & Animal Feed

Plants, livestock products, and animal feed are all subject to quarantine. The required documents and procedures vary depending on the purpose of import and the specific item. Please select the relevant category from the three types listed below.

Plant Products

• Scope: Grains, fruits, vegetables, etc. (*Seeds and seedlings are not handled.)

• Characteristics: Most items are subject to plant quarantine, and the original phytosanitary certificate must be submitted upon import.

Livestock Products

• Scope: Meat, dairy products, eggs, processed livestock food ingredients, etc.

• Characteristics: Livestock hygiene and quarantine procedures are required, and some items may also be subject to overlapping food regulations.

Feed

• Scope: Pet food, compound feed for livestock, raw feed ingredients, etc.

• Characteristics: Classified under the Feed Control Act, requiring review of composition and safety.
